Dr. Thiede performed my wisdom teeth extraction this morning at 10 am. The front desk girl, the assistant in the surgery room and the Dr Thiede are kind and respectful excepted the billing person, Danielle.
Terry charged me a consultation fee on 8/29/2023. I remember my daughter extracted all her wisdom tooth two years ago. The insurance paid the consultation cost. So, I called insurance, Delta Dental told me the insurance pays the consultation fee. Delta Dental rep looked my account and told me that the office used the wrong billing code. They let me know the correct code. So, I called the office back to let them know what my insurance told me, Terry answered the phone and told me, Danielle will call me back. As of this morning, no one called me back. I went to the appointment, checked in, they asked me for co-pay. I saw Danielle (she didn't introduce herself; I heard the office manager called her). She was not polite at all. I explained to her that she needs to bill to the correct code, so the insurance will pay the consultation cost instead of charge to me, patients. She said,
"I have always bill to this code". (So, if anyone of you go to the office for consultation, make sure you check your insurance for billing. They may use the wrong code, and you may have to pay the fee which insurance covers). Since Dr Thiede is Oral Surgeon, not my primary dentist, she cannot charge to the code as my primary dentist. She needs to look up the code and bill accordingly. The office manager (I think she is) asked Danielle to look up the code. I hope they can resubmit the claim with the correct code.
Danielle: It is not necessary to get upset or have bad attitude. I have nothing to against you. I offer to call my insurance in front of you, but you don't want it. If the insurance covers the cost, why change to the customer. Hope this will work out.
